Massage is the best way to keep your body in harmony, as a compatible treatment to all your active exercise or medical treatment. The power of touch restores health and promotes self-healing processes in the body. The inter-personal contact has a twofold beneficial effect: psychological and physiological. Knowing that someone cares for your well-being is a great mental boost, while the stimulation of the skin, on the surface level, as well as reaching the deep tissue via the skin, improves blood and lymph circulation and nerve communication between the periphery and the centre.

Stress
When we are exposed to a stressor, the trigger that causes stress (e.g. A car cuts in in front of us on the road, and this causes the feeling of fear and anger), i.e. Fight or flight mode in our bodies, the adrenaline and cortisol become secreted, and the muscles prepare for an intense action.
We do not release this stress (because we are only sitting in the car), i.e. The excess adrenaline and cortisol in the muscles, by physical activity, so it gets built up, and very slowly released from the body (it takes more than a week to get rid of excess adrenaline if no physical exercise has been done).
Next thing that happens is the panic mode, disorientation and loss of control, because the anticipated physical reaction to the trigger was absent and the adrenaline was not used for its purpose. The body realizes this after a while, and starts the detoxification process, i.e. Draining the adrenaline from the system. This is how the overwhelm process begins. The body is unable to perform other functions well, because it is occupied by removing the adrenaline build-up.
Depending on the intensity of stress, thus the amount of adrenaline secreted, the demobilization process or overwhelm may cause dizziness, fainting or even heart attack. The mitigation of stress effects is as demanding on the body as the stress itself. However, the real danger is staying in the overwhelm mode for so long that it becomes a default state. It is the low level of overwhelm because the body does not succeed to completely rid itself of the remnants of stress.
Because the body is operating in the overwhelm mode, the muscles are weakened (due to the small amounts of adrenaline still residing in them). The energy that passes through the muscle is part of the energy meridian flow.
We can use reflexology and stimulate the adrenal gland reflex point, to bring it to balance, as well as the kidneys and liver, to help them flush out the toxins as efficiently as possible. In case of overwhelm, it might be useful to learn some relaxation techniques and practice meditation, so that you can completely finish the overwhelm process once the stress occurs.

Types of massage
For the fist session, I offer therapeutic massage, with the consultation included in the session. It is an individual treatment, tailor-made and devised depending on the consultation. It will often be a combination of reflexology and relaxing massage, focused on a specific issue, part of body or organ that is out of balance.
Other massages can be: anti-stress, anti-migraine, relaxing. These are all classical Swedish massages.
I also offer Sports Massage to people who train or prepare themselves for competitions.
Reflexology, of either feet or hands, is the best type of treatment for continuous maintenance of harmony, and prevention of health issues outbreaks.
